This was a great campaign to work on, and I don’t mean because of the subject matter. As an art director, it was a challenge because of all the research we did on it. The client liked the idea but wanted an authentic vintage-looking pin-up, not a cheap rip-off. I worked with a great photographer who was able to understand our vision. And I think they turned out pretty good.
The Miss Texas Pete calendar was handed out at SEC and ACC football games, state fairs, food festivals and other events. The following four ads were placed in the Winston-Salem alternative weekly newspaper leading up to the Rib Fest.
